Senior Advisor - Financial Control and Reporting

Norges Bank Investment Management (NBIM) are seeking a senior advisor to their financial control and reporting team. The Financial Control and Reporting team’s responsibilities include IFRS financial reporting of the Government Pension Fund Global (GPFG), as well as designing and performing key financial reporting controls and analysis.

The team manages relationships with various governing and audit bodies, and provides advice on the accounting and financial reporting implications of developments in NBIM investment activities, IFRS and other relevant reporting frameworks.

To succeed in this role, you should have extensive experience from- and in-depth knowledge of IFRS, as well as the ability to interpret implications and hold dialogues with governing and audit bodies.

The position is located in Oslo, and will report to the Head of Financial Control and Reporting.

Main responsibilities:

  • Prepare quarterly and annual IFRS financial reporting for the GPFG
  • Advise other internal teams on financial reporting and IFRS issues
  • Manage the financial reporting process and coordinate with relevant stakeholders
  • Design and perform key financial reporting controls and analysis
  • Assess accounting and financial reporting implications of developments/changes in NBIM investment activities and supporting IT systems, IFRS and other relevant reporting frameworks
  • Participate in improvement projects concerning financial accounting and reporting

Main qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in accounting/ finance/ business administration with strong academic records
  • Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience within audit or accounting/financial reporting
  • In-depth knowledge of IFRS, preferably financial instruments  
  • Structured, analytical and accurate, with the ability to take initiative
  • Ability to work well both in a team as well as independently
  • Strong communication skills, fluent in both written and spoken English and Norwegian
