We are now looking for a Credit Lawyer (Advokat/Jurist) to Swedbank LC&I - Norwegian Branch – Legal department!

About the job

Swedbank Large Corporates & Institutions (LC&I) offers corporate and investment banking services to companies and investors in the Nordic and Baltic region. LC&I is organized in sector-based client teams offering tailor-made solutions to large corporations and financial institutions, matching the client's specific needs to Swedbank's total service and product portfolio. Our banking organization is offering banking services and loans to professional Large Corporates and Financial Institutions. Our Investment Banking offering includes services within Corporate Finance, origination for equity (ECM) and debt (DCM) Credit and Macro Research, Loans & Syndication and Structured Finance. Furthermore we offer market and broker services within bonds and derivatives. Swedbank have a close cooperation with Kepler Cheuvreux that provides services within equity distribution, brokerage and equity research.

LC&I have approximately 1,200 employees mainly based in the Nordics and Baltics. The Norwegian branch has approximately 150 employees, all based in Oslo.

Legal within LC&I

Legal within LC&I is a business area staff function within LC&I comprising of some twenty lawyers located in Sweden, Finland and four in Norway. Our work includes a number of distinct legal disciplines within banking and finance law, including capital market transactions, loan finance, derivatives and clearing, as well as providing general expertise and solutions for LC&I and its business needs. We work collaboratively with the business areas and are considered as a natural part of Swedbank's success process. As one of our lawyers have joined a business area we are seeking a replacement at the Oslo office, mainly to serve loan finance, syndications and structured finance, but also to fill a role in legal issues in a day-to-day basis in a financial environment. Legal within LC&I is a part of Swedbanks Group Legal with a total of nearly hundred and seventy lawyers in total.

As part of Swedbank LC&I, Legal, you will be a member of a team of lawyers specialized in a variety of disciplines within the field of banking and finance law. You will also work closely with experienced business people and gain an opportunity to expand your experience within the field of domestic and international financial and commercial law. Furthermore you have the possibility to create an internal network with skilled and experienced lawyers and business people in a complex and exciting banking group.

Key Task and Responsibilities

As a lawyer in Swedbank Norge you will be a part of a team consisting of four dedicated lawyers in total. You will provide legal support in an international environment on a variety of legal matters in all areas of banking and finance law, with a primary focus on loans and credits, syndications and documentation to Large Corporates in the sectors of Shipping Offshore & Energy, Real Estate, Retail & Service and Structured Finance. Experience in detecting legal risks and providing the business with general legal advice and information is considered a plus.

You will report to the Head of Legal in Oslo, but participate in LC&I's Legal team which also includes lawyers in Sweden and Finland. You will work independently, be part of a business-oriented legal team, LC&I Legal, comprising of specialist lawyers working in an international environment.

Skills

You have a solid academic background with a minimum of three to five years relevant experience gained from a reputable law firm and/or as an in-house council within the areas of financial services, credits, syndications and loans. You are familiar with LMA based documentation. Any experience from shipping & offshore, (international) restructuring and negotiations will be an advantage. Any knowledge toward regulatory matters, derivatives and debt capital transactions will also be valued.

You are a well-organized team player with very good written and verbal communication skills (Norwegian and English) with a solid interest in the banking and finance sector. You also have a distinct sense of service, are flexible and have the ability to prioritize, and are able to work independent with different tasks and in several projects.
