Magseis Fairfield is now seeking an experienced and professional Group Finance Director to join our team in Oslo. The main function and responsibility of this role will be to oversee daily operations of the finance department and ensure timely and accurate delivery of internal and external financial reporting for the group. The Group Finance Director will work closely with the CFO, the Board and external auditors. This role will also participate in the group's financial planning and analysis activities. The Group Finance Director reports to CFO.

Key responsibilities:

  • oversee the daily financial operations of the group
  • prepare financial reporting including quarterly and annual financial statements and tax returns for all Norwegian group companies
  • prepare annual and interim Group consolidated financial statements and notes in accordance with IFRS
  • monitor activities in subsidiaries
  • manage the group's legal structure and tax implications
  • ensure appropriate internal controls and financial procedures are implemented and followed
  • oversee and monitor the implementation of a new centralized accounting system
  • manage transfer pricing and the group's treasury including currency hedging
  • maintain and establish relationships with existing and new financial institutions, and perform other capital raising activities such as new equity issues
  • external reporting to Oslo VPS
  • assist CFO with finance structure and Investor Relations activities

Desired background and qualifications:

  • Master's degree in finance or economics, Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is preferred
  • minimum of 5 years' experience from relevant positions, preferable with international offshore or seismic operations
  • good knowledge of IFRS
  • advanced Excel user
  • fluent in English, both written and verbally

  • strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • strong communication skills, allowing the candidate to communicate with both senior professionals and non-finance professionals
  • able and willing to adapt and function in a global company with business across the world
  • positive and team-oriented mindset
