Group accounting manager

Followed by its acquisition by a private equity fund, Fiven - a global leader in the development, manufacturing and distribution of Silicon Carbide grains and powders - is looking for its new Group Accounting Manager. The position is located at the company’s HQ in Oslo, and as the position is newly established, you will get the opportunity to influence and shape the position to fit future requirements. Group Accounting Manager will work closely with the Group CFO. You will also work closely with the finance teams for the operational units. 

With operations in Norway, Belgium, Brazil and Venezuela, and in a context of carve-out from its historical parent company (sic.saint-gobain.com), an urgent and important role for the Group Accounting Manager will be to initiate and build new structures and routines for the Group within the field of group accounting and cash management. Other areas of importance will be driving the process of identifying, selecting and implementing a new consolidation software, in addition to the following areas of responsibility:

• Preparing consolidated financial statements for the Group in accordance with IFRS, and ensure that statutory compliance matters are properly attended

• Reporting to the stock exchange and dealing with external authorities and auditors

• Follow-up and liaison with subsidiaries to secure parent company’s statutory reporting in accordance with Group Accounting Policy and IFRS

• Providing global guidance on accounting and consolidation related issues

• Establishing an efficient and accurate cash-flow reporting and forecasting for the Group

• Establishing accounting procedures and internal control processes -leading projects and process improvements as needed

• Assisting CFO in adhoc projects

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree with major in Accounting or similar

• A minimum of 5-7 years of relevant working experience is required

• Strong and sound technical accounting knowledge in IFRS and international accounting practices

• Fluent in English, oral and written language

• Spanish/Portuguese is an advantage
