We are looking for an experienced travel retail manager based in Oslo to head our central travel retail team located in Copenhagen. The department consists of our shop coordinator and four Travel Retail Managers who are responsible for developing all shop categories and product assortments onboard our two passenger vessels sailing between Copenhagen Oslo.

You Have Three Main Roles

  • Managing the central retail team
  • Develop aligned and optimized shops on each of our two vessels
  • Ensure focus on products with high appeal to Norwegians

Your Team Consists Of

  • Travel Retail Buyer Clothes
  • Travel Retail Buyer Living, Accessories, Toys & Electronics
  • Travel Retail Buyer Perfume & Cosmetics
  • Travel Retail Buyer Liquor, Tobacco & Confectionary
  • Travel Retail Coordinator

Your Main Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead the overall retail strategy in collaboration with the Cruise Route Management
  • Team management and motivation
  • Overall responsible for the Sea Shop concept and product assortment and pricing in our two shops across the route.
  • Develop the Sea Shop concept and customer flow to optimize the turnover, guest flow and experience in our two shops
  • Develop a Sea Shop concept manual to describe the standards, procedures and customer service of the Sea Shop
  • Ensure concept standards training and potential other training requirements of shop management and staff in collaboration with the DFDS Training and Development Team
  • Optimize collaboration between the onboard management and the central travel retail team
  • Manage collaboration with our Procurement Department that manage all DFDS contracts including our biggest supplier Gebr. Heinemann
  • Manage the collaboration with our Performance Team to ensure pricing that meets budgets
  • Monitor our customer feedback within the shop and ensure action plans in collaboration with the central travel retail team and onboard managers for adjusting and increasing satisfaction according to feedback
  • Ensure all administrative tasks that make systems and the business in general run smoothly onboard are managed by the central travel retail team
  • Ensure close collaboration with Onboard Communications Manager to ensure optimal communication of the Sea Shop in all communication channels, incl. shop magazines

Your Skills And Experience

  • Experience and education in retail management on a high level
  • Experience with developing successful shop concepts across shop categories
  • Experience in designing shop concepts and recording standards
  • Have lead a team to success
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • People-oriented
  • Guest-oriented and service-minded, with internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent communication skills in Norwegian and English
