The Norwegian Investment Fund for Developing Countries – aims to create jobs and better living conditions by investing in companies that contribute to sustainable development. The fund is owned by The Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and will help to establish and grow viable and profitable businesses in developing countries, which would otherwise not be initiated due to high risk. About half of the investment portfolio is in Clean Energy. Green infrastructure, Financial Institutions and Scalable Enterprises in the Agricultural and Manufacturing industries are other prioritized investment areas. Norfund has 100 employees and offices in Oslo, Nairobi, Cape Town, Accra, San José and Bangkok. Norfund's committed investments portfolio amounts to USD 3,5 billion in 150 companies.
 

Norfund has tripled its portfolio since 2013 and the reporting requirements are increasing. We want to simplify and present important information and analysis to ensure that our board, management, investment staff and external stakeholders are able to make good decisions.

Norfund is in the process of building a new data architecture for reporting and business intelligence in Azure and we are seeking a professional who can take a key role in this process.

The right candidate must have relevant and documented experience from working with data warehouse projects, APIs and business intelligence. The candidate must understand Norfund’s core business and be curious and self-motivated to identify how data and new technology can be applied to optimize reporting and processes in Norfund.

You will be part of the Portfolio Management team which consists of 3 - 4 people (primarily with business degrees), and you will be instrumental in driving through changes related to business intelligence and other technical projects.

The position reports to Head of Portfolio Management.


Responsibilities and tasks

  • Designing, implementing and maintaining Norfund’s new data warehouse
  • Further develop and enhance the framework for the data structure in a new data warehouse
  • Take lead on the implementation of the data warehouse
  • Designing, implementing and maintaining Power BI reports
  • Application owner
  • Responsible for Norfunds core portfolio monitoring systems (FrontInvest and Dynamo and the new data warehouse)
  • Integrations and automation
  • Contribute in designing and implementing new integrations between our core systems (m-Files, FrontInvest, Dynamo and our accounting system)
  • Be proactive and see possibilities in tools like Power Automate and other relevant Microsoft tools we already have access to
     

Specific qualifications for this position

  • Master’s degree in computer science, mathematics or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 3-6 years of relevant experience
  • Extensive experience with working with data warehouses and systems/tools like:
  • Azure
  • SQL
  • Microsoft’s BI Stack (SSIS)
  • PowerBI/DAX
  • Experience with Python (or similar)
  • Knowledge or certification on the Microsoft 365 platform
  • Knowledge of ERP or Portfolio Management system is an advantage
  • Basic understanding of economics and business

  • Result oriented with a structured, proactive and efficient work style
  • Good communication skills (spoken and written) in English and/or Norwegian
  • Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills
  • Interest and willingness to learn about topics and concepts, outside of IT, that influence the work of the portfolio management team in Norfund
