Director Innovation & Strategic Projects

Aluminium Metal Commercial is responsible for the global sale of Hydro’s casthouse products from both fully owned and partly owned facilities. In the transition towards greener economy, Hydro takes leadership by providing low carbon aluminium products to the market. 

The Innovation and Strategic project department in Commercial will be central in initiating new product development projects and facilitate the commercialization processes.

To meet our ambitions towards a low carbon society we are now hiring a strategic important position, Director Innovation & Strategic Projects to lead this department.

Main responsibilities

  • Strategic leadership
    • Identify trends in the market in collaboration with customers and industry experts 
    • Lead strategic projects across Commercial
    • Initiate new product development projects
  • Professional innovation processes
    • Stimulate to structured R&D idea generation
    • Organize pilots together with selected customers
  • New Product commercialization
    • Develop marketing strategies
    • Oversee handover of new development to sales organizations
    • Product and sales responsibility for forging stock material

Desired Qualifications

  • University degree within science
  • Solid experience from business development and product development with a proven record of launching and commercialize new products
  • Availability to travel to meet customers, partners and internal sales- R&D- and production teams
  • Fluent in written and oral English
     

Additional information
The position reports to Head of Commercial and is located in Oslo, Norway, other Hydro locations is also an alternative.
