Supply Chain Director

Amundsen Sports is a Norwegian outdoor brand inspired by the heritage of Roald Amundsen and built up around an adventurous lifestyle and fun all-year outdoor lifestyle. Since establishment in 2010 we have built a strong foothold in the Norwegian market and established a global sales presence. Amundsen Sports has grown substantially the last few years, with a larger proportion of our revenues coming from outside Norway and through our eCommerce channel. In 2021, our revenues were NOK 125 million with more than 30% of revenues through own eCom and more than 20% of revenues from outside of Norway (with even higher international share online). Going forward our ambition is to become a global brand recognized for standing out from the crowd by challenging the established and bringing the Norwegian Friluftsliv to the World. We will continue our journey of sustainable growth with strong focus on our own distribution channels, internationalization, and high-quality development of our brand in all aspects.  

We are looking for a Supply Chain Director who will have the overall responsibility and ownership of the flow of products throughout the entire value chain - from our manufacturers to delivering products to our customers and end-users. The Supply Chain Director will play a key role in enabling Amundsen Sports to deliver on future ambitions by providing outstanding supply chain performance, continuous improvement of processes, implementation of automation/digitalization and cost reduction initiatives. You ensure that Amundsen works with the best partners that share our vision of high quality and responsibility. The Supply Chain Director reports to the CEO. The position is located in Lysaker (Oslo). 

Key responsibilities and tasks include: 

• Ensure outstanding operational performance through Supply Chain ensuring we deliver our products with the right quality, at the right time and at the right cost  

• Sourcing new manufacturers, negotiate and follow-up prices, terms/conditions and contracts and build long-term relationships through regular contact and visits 

• Ensuring we have the optimal production footprint in terms of quality, capacity and prices 

• Demand and production planning including forecasting, procurement strategy and order placement each season. Close follow-up of production and delivery plan with manufacturers 

• Inbound & outbound logistics, including optimal setup for freight and customs handling 

• Identify and implement initiatives to minimize freight, customs and warehousing costs 

• Manage our 3PL warehouse operations and drive initiatives for improved inventory management for finished products in the warehouse 

• Using digital tools and technology to manage operations and improve supply chain performance, including optimizing our ERP system and flow with WMS, PIM and other systems 

• Develop and maintain real-time dashboards to monitor KPIs and operational performance 

• Be a driving force in the development of a sustainable value chain and product lifecycle, as well as staying updated on relevant regulations an ensure our compliance with them  

• Lead the development and execution Supply Chain strategy 

• Lead and develop the Supply Chain organization (currently one employee) 

Experience or qualifications we are looking for:  

• Minimum 5 years’ experience from managing global supply chain operations, preferably with experience from manufacturing of garments 

• Strong experience and results from the majority of the responsibilities and tasks listed above 

• Technically savvy with experience from ERP/WMS and production planning systems  

• Proficiency in Excel and other analytical/business intelligence tools 

• Higher education in supply chain, technology/science or other process-oriented field 

• Fluency in one of the Scandinavian languages and proficiency in English
