The right candidate will also become a vital part of the transaction team, handling corporate law-related issues in current- and future investments in close collaboration with external advisors and the management team.

The role will involve working on a variety of legal and compliance-related matters across the firm. Primary job responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring that our company complies with our regulatory and legal requirements
  • Liaising with management, external resources, the Norwegian Financial Supervisory Authority (FSA), and market development to drive consistency and achieve best practices within compliance
  • Providing an in-house service that effectively controls and supports our business in our duty to comply with all relevant internal procedures
  • Working with management and staff to identify and manage regulatory risk
  • Providing advice and guidance to the business and key stakeholders in line with regulations, and industry best practice
  • Shaping and updating our internal routines and instructions
  • Reporting directly to Obligo’s board of directors
  • Contributing to other administrative tasks and responsibilities
  • Training of our organization’s employees and management
  • Fulfilling the role as the Secretary of the Board of Directors
  • Acting as our legal advisor on corporate law-related matters, and an important resource on all transactions and investments that Obligo is involved in (SHA, SPA, finance agreements, structuring, etc.)

About the qualifications:

We are looking for a professional with a problem-solving attitude, committed to the finish line and eager to be an important contributor to the company’s success. The minimum requirements are as follows:

  • Graduate degree in law
  • Minimum 2-5 years relevant compliance experience from a similar role within banking/finance, or from a law firm, preferably with AIFM relevance
  • Professionally strong with an interest in regulatory issues, as well as a good understanding of investment products and markets
  • Excellent communication skills
