Norad is hiring an expert on open digital solutions

We need an expert on open digital solutions who can help us integrate digital public goods in all of
Norway’s large development assistance portfolios. We are looking for a candidate who has experience as a developer or an architect and now wants to use their expertise to work on a large scale with the world’s biggest challenges. In this position, you will not write code, but you will work on technical issues related to architecture, data, licensing and solutions. This is a technology position where you can really make a difference for the world!

You will be a part of the Section for Innovation team who is responsible for Norad’s externally-facing work on innovation, technology and digitalization. The section manages a portfolio of digitalization projects and works closely with other teams in Norad and external partners to improve development assistance through open digital solutions.

The position is fulltime and based in Oslo, Norway.

Responsibilities

  • Further develop Norad’s digitalization portfolio
  • Work in cross-functional teams with non-technical colleagues to integrate digital public goods in thematic portfolios
  • Initiate and lead innovation projects
  • Conduct technical assessments of digital solutions versus the digital public goods standard. Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Relevant graduate level degree. Relevant experience can replace the education requirement.
  • Minimum four years relevant work experience
  • You must have expertise on open licensing, open solutions, and open standards
  • Experience with innovation processes is required
  • Experience with IT architecture is desirable
  • International experience is preferred
  • You must have excellent oral and written skills in English, and a motivation to learn Norwegian within two years

The appointment is temporary with a duration of two years and paid under job code Adviser in pay band (478 300 – 750 000) or Senior Adviser in pay band (NOK 750 000 – 900 000). Pay band allocation will take place on the basis of qualifications and experience.
