As Investment Analyst in New Energy Solutions you will be a key contributor to the strategic- and commercial development of our business. You will support the business area in financing, partnerships, and financial modelling of business cases. You will also be given the opportunity to contribute to the development of relevant methodology and structure within these fields. As a part of the strategy, portfolio and ownership team in New Energy Solutions, you will also support strategy development and projects for organic and structural growth as well as development, assessment and optimization of business cases across the New Energy Solutions portfolio.

Working in New Energy Solutions

New Energy Solutions is Statkraft’s business area for development and scaling of new green energy technologies. The business area is responsible for our business in district heading, green hydrogen, biofuel, e-mobility, Statkraft Ventures, new business development, as well as R&D. We seek to develop and grow business both organically and through M&A. The Strategy, portfolio, and ownership team in New Energy Solutions provides support to BA management and business units within strategy development, investment support and portfolio management, and is asset owner for e-mobility (Mer) and biofuel (Silva Green Fuel).

As Investment Analyst in New Energy Solutions you will be responsible for:

• Valuation, financial modelling, commercial optimization and evaluation of business cases
• Support the development of strategies for business- and commercial development, including plans for financing, ownership, partnerships, and M&A
• Conducting analyses of profitability, performance, and value creation both on project- and portfolio level and monitor and report on development.
• Monitoring of market trends, competitors, frame conditions and regulation, extracting business implications and development of response
• Reviewing structural and strategic options in the market and actively look for opportunities to strengthen the market position and robustness of the business
• Prepare documentation/presentations for investment decisions to Management and Board

About you:

We look for an Investment Analyst with the essential skills to future-proof our business and renewable energy solutions. That includes:

• Master/university degree in business, economics, engineering or science
• Experience from corporate finance, management consulting, private equity, or comparable
• Knowledge and experience within strategy, business development and M&A execution, preferably within the energy sector
• Self-driven and strong commercial mindset with analytical approach
• Excellent team-player with very good communication skills, enjoying building networks internally and externally
• Curious and creative mindset, but also willing to prioritize   
• Able to travel to meet with potential customers and equity partners
• Strong communication skills in English
