Are you eager to be part of our journey and create positive change by managing risks and opportunities that protect the environment and our people?

About The Role and tasks

As Devold’s Sustainability & ESG Manager, you will report directly to the CEO and have an important role in inspiring, leading and managing the company, as well as the Devold brand, to become even more sustainable. Part of that is also communicating a 170-year-old strong story. A history to be proud of.

In the role you will among others be:

• Developing and implementing the company's sustainability strategy, including identifying and prioritizing issues that are relevant to the company and its stakeholders, setting goals and targets for addressing these issues, and creating and managing programs and initiatives to address them, including potential company certifications and be responsible for our reporting within these areas.

• Building partnerships and networks with our Product Team, factory in Lithuania and supply chain partners to support sustainability & ESG efforts.

• Leading and working on larger projects within innovation i.e. finding new materials, routines, etc. with the Product Team, Factory and suppliers to identify opportunities and execute ideas and projects for the company and brand to improve its sustainability performance.

• Conducting annual ESG risk assessments through analyses of the company's operations and supply chain to identify potential risks related to environmental, social, or governance issues, and developing plans to mitigate these risks by developing and updating policies, ESG documents, action plans, quality requirements, and manuals for internal and external use.

• Reporting on the company's ESG performance: Collecting data, preparing reports, and communicating the company's performance to internal and external stakeholders, including i.e. regulators (EU), and the general public (our consumers).

• Keeping up to date with trends, new knowledge, new technology, laws, regulations, restrictions, etc., and passing it on to management and peers.

• You will both be an advisor and the day-to-day responsible of executing agreed initiatives.

The position is a brand-new role, and you will be able to shape it in close relationship with internal stakeholders. You will be responsible for developing and implementing our sustainability strategy in our home market (Norway) and internationally with key focus on the European outdoor market.

Who are we looking for?

We know no one will tick of all the boxes, but as a guidance we think the perfect fit is someone who can relate to some of these statements:

- You think radically new and is not afraid of testing ideas that no one else have tried before.

- You bring a hands-on attitude and a generalist mindset with the ability to work across business areas and functions.

- You are structured and enjoy sharing your knowledge with others and collaborating to achieve set goals.

- You are inclusive, and development-driven in harmony with the constantly changing world around you.

- You are used to taking initiative and focusing on results and finishing the projects you initiate and lead.

We believe you also hold some of the following qualifications:

• A bachelor or master's degree, in e.g., business, sustainability, or communication

• 3-5 years of experience with the tasks listed above within sustainability & ESG in the FMCG, textile/sports, lifestyle, or fashion industry.

• Knowledge of laws and restrictions in the textile industry (primarily EU regulations).

• Knowledge of and experience from common reporting frameworks (GRI, SASB, TCFD, CDP)

• Fluency in English, both in writing and in speech. Other languages is a plus (i.e. German).

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate complex technical topics in a clear and easy-to-understand language.

As part of the role, you will work closely with colleagues in our factory and external partners to ensure we are compliant and to develop our sustainability strategy.
