CFO

Mustad & Son is one of Norway’s oldest industrial companies originating in Gjøvik in 1832 who started with producing nails of various sized, and over the next century producing a wide selection of goods, from coffee to stoves to fish hooks. In the 1950’s, the quality and pioneer spirit of the company resulted Mustad as the biggest fishing hooks producer in the world, representing 50% of global production. In later years, Mustad has expanded with strong growth and is known as the world’s largest producer of fishing hooks with exports to over 160 countries.

On behalf of Mustad & Son, a world leading sport and industrial fishing producer, we are looking for a strategic, operational, and business-oriented CFO. Mustad & Son is one of Norway’s oldest industrial companies originating in Gjøvik in 1832 and is known as the world’s largest producer of fishing hooks with exports to over 160 countries.

As the CFO you will have a key role in Mustad & Son and will work closely with the working chairman, CEO, the management team, and executive board in a company with a clear growth strategy. You will actively participate in financing and M&A activities, as well as strategy and business development process. The CFO is overall responsible for financial operations of the company and will work with the financial team across the world. You will also be a key member of Executive Management team, participating in strategic development and corporate direction. The position reports to the CEO.

Scope of work

• Overall financial management for the company
• Central in M&A and strategic development projects
• Assessment of underlying business performance
• Continuously look for opportunities for development and growth
• Build and improve scalable systems and processes to keep the finance function abreast of rapid expansion of the business
• Financing and liquidity management
• Financial control of projects
• Prepare analyses and documentation for external and internal meetings

Desired experience and qualifications

• A master’s degree from a well-reputed university with strong academic records
• Preferable at least 5 years experience from one of the leading audit firms combined with relevant CFO experience from internationally exposed companies  
• Led/participated in strategy, business development and improvement processes
• Significant knowledge of financing and liquidity management
• Strong in strategic and financial analysis
• Participation in a management team, involved in strategic and business issues on corporate or division level
• Familiar with international standards within internal control, corporate governance and IT solutions
