It has been 49 years since the first establishment of Kubota in Europe. Over the last decades, the Kubota Corporation has shown a significant growth in the European region; particularly through the acquisition of the Norwegian agricultural implements manufacturer Kverneland Group. The European organization consists of 10 production plants and various distribution, service and sales units that offer tractors, construction machinery, industrial engines, agricultural machinery, multi-purpose vehicles and lawn care machines. Kubota Europe (KHE) Group Finance includes the following departments: Tax & Legal, Treasury, Financial Reporting, Non-Financial Reporting, Compliance and Internal Audit. The Kubota Europe (KHE) Group Finance function is responsible for all financial topics on group level in the Europe and our headquarter is at Klepp, Norway, but we are a virtual organization with employees also in Germany, France and the Netherlands.
Group Internal Controls over Financial reporting (ICOFR) Manager
Kubota Europe (KHE) Group Finance is strengthening the team and seeking a highly motivated and experienced Group ICOFR Manager. Kubota Europe (KHE) Group Finance is responsible for the internal control framework and the internal audit of ICOFR for the Kubota subsidiaries in Europe. As ICOFR Manager, you will be an important part of Kubota Europe (KHE) Group Finance and have the opportunity to cooperate with the Group Internal Audit department ensuring Kubota European entities’ internal controls over financial reporting are in compliance with Japan's Financial Instruments and Exchange Act (FIEA) of 2006 (J-SOX). You will work closely with all departments in Kubota Europe (KHE) Group Finance, in addition to all Kubota subsidiaries in Europe. The position will report to Director Group Financial Reporting. The role will preferably be located at our Kverneland Group premises in Klepp, Norway.
Main areas of responsibility:
- Take a leading role in establish / enhance and implement a common framework and design for ICOFR by understanding processes, risk and controls
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the ICOFR framework and improve them continuously
- Identify potential risks and assist in the development of risk mitigation strategies
- Cooperate with Group Internal Audit department in evaluating internal control gaps / deficiencies and be involved in the implementation of remediation actions
- Support and initiate improvement projects, especially in areas of digitalization and automation
- Support the subsidiaries to ensure all documentation related to J-SOX compliance is accurate and up-to-date
- Collaborate with external auditors to facilitate the annual J-SOX compliance audit
- Provide training and support internally on ICOFR subject matter to enhance control performance and understanding of J-SOX compliance requirements
- Stay current with changes to J-SOX regulations and assess the impact on subsidiaries
- Stay current and implement new regulatory requirements, e.g internal control over ESG reporting
- Participate in projects and other tasks within the ICOFR area
Education and personal requirements:
- Master’s Degree in Accounting, Auditing or related field
- Relevant experience may compensate for formal qualifications
- Preferably 7+ years of relevant experience within ICOFR or related field
- Experience of working for a major auditing company, or experience of working for a large international organization, preferable reporting according to IFRS
- Strong professional skills within ICOFR, internal control regulations and compliance requirements, e.g Sarbanes Oxley Act
- Good business understanding and focus on improvements
- Experience from / interest in using tools for increased digitalization and automation
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills
- Solution-orientated and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Independent, self-motivated and proactive
- Confident and experienced in communication in English
