ContiTrade is the strategic retail arm of the Continental Tire business in Europe. Its business purpose is to facilitate access to the respective markets and leverage trade opportunities in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA). We have a strong market presence in Norway, and we are currently looking for a Managing Director to lead our operations in the market. As the Managing Director, you will be responsible for driving growth, managing and developing talent, and building and implementing business strategies to ensure our company's success.

The scope of the ContiTrade business in EMEA, ranges from selling tires to complete fleet management via tires, tire services and vehicle services, through approximately 600 equity stores and 2,300 franchise and network partners. The business scope includes sales to end consumers, business and fleet customers, wholesale and as a service partner to Continental, as well as other major tire brands. This is done physically in branches and on the road, as well as through e-commerce platforms. 

BestDrive AS is one of Norway's leading specialist retail chains in Automotive services and other accessories. The chain consists of 33 own stores and more than 50 franchisees across Norway. The head office is at Helsfyr in Oslo. In total, we are approx. 300 employees, and a turnover of approx. NOK 850 million.

Your contribution in this role:

  • Developing and implementing local business strategies and initiatives in alignment with ContiTrade overall strategy, to drive growth and profitability in the Norwegian market.
  • Leading a diverse team of professionals, fostering a culture of ownership and empowerment towards achieving company’s goals.
  • Getting people on board by setting a clear direction and defining priorities.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, partners, and suppliers.
  • Representing the company in the Norwegian market, endorsing our products and services.
  • Ensuring that the company operates in compliance with Continental corporate framework and the Norwegian local regulations and laws.
  • Continuously evaluating market trends, customer needs and identifying opportunities for growth.

What you bring along with you:

  • A university degree in ‘Business Management’ or equivalent.
  • 5-10 years of relevant leadership experience in a retail or franchise environment, preferably in tire industry or related sectors.
  • Proven leadership and management acumen, demonstrating the ability to motivate and inspire teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build robust relationships with stakeholders.
  • Strong financial awareness complemented by effective analytical skills
  • Strategic thinker with a strong commercial mindset.
  • Proficiency in Norwegian and English.
