We are seeking an exceptional leader to guide our global engineering department on a transformative journey - shaping the future of our digital products. As Head of Engineering, your main role will be to facilitate seamless collaboration among cross-functional teams, each of them overseeing core domains within our software product portfolio.
Your strategic role:
- In partnership with the Group management, product managers, and a dedicated team of 30 highly skilled engineers based in Oslo and Bangladesh, you will collectively craft a global strategy.
- Your primary focus will be on establishing strategic priorities aimed at showcasing our premium editorial content with an exceptional user experience and optimal performance.
Your day-to-day:
- Oversee the development and operations of our digital products, as well as managing a distributed team of Engineers and Tech Leads.
- Empower teams in capacity and competency through strategic recruitment, community engagement, and fostering a positive work culture.
- Responsible for establishing effective dialogue within our ten different publications.
- Play a a key role in ensuring DN Media Groups further success in this digital transformation, leading the cloud journey on AWS, transitioning to a cultural DevOps mindset, and fostering an agile product organisation.
- Be a part of the Data & Technology management team and report directly to the CTO.
Your background:
- Demonstrated a strong experience in leading development teams, preferably in a distributed setting, showcasing a track record of successful project deliveries.
- In-depth knowledge of digital product development, coupled with an understanding of agile methodologies and DevSecOps-practices.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, enabling clear communication of complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
- Deep understanding of technology to create high value solutions, ensuring technological alignment with organizational objectives.
- Experience or strong interest in enterprise perspective, ranging from analytics and operations to information security.
- Higher education within technology (preferably on Master level)
- Given the international profile of our team and the people we work with, it is important that you are fluent in both a Scandinavian language and English
