What We’re Looking for

We are seeking a candidate with strong analytical skills, an eye for improvement and a system and process-driven approach.

As a Financial Controller Shipping, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate revenue (in line with IFRS15) and related operational cost reporting and will have the opportunity to enhance our monthly accrual mechanisms, analysis tools, and internal controls.

The role is newly established and you will be able to have an impact on how to shape it.

Are you motivated by joining a global company that can offer challenging assignments and a friendly working environment? Maybe this role is designed for you!

With us, you will:

  • Calculate and account for monthly revenue and operational cost accruals/deferrals.
  • Analyze operational information for completeness, correctness, and adherence to IFRS.
  • Develop intuitive and efficient analysis tools. Today we use Excel but are open to exploring other options.
  • Review invoicing completeness and follow-up on missing items in cooperation with the documentation and cost control team.
  • Define processes and working routines to improve quality and efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain close relationships with other functions to ensure understanding of the business and processes.

Here are some of the things we are looking for in the right candidate:

  • Holds an economic master's degree and experience in financial controlling or audit, preferably from a global company.
  • Has an understanding of accounting and internal control.
  • Is system and process-driven and skilled in developing tools to analyze large datasets.
  • Is an excellent communicator and fluent in English.

As a person we believe you:

  • Possess strong analytical skills and a curiosity to learn about the company and industry.
  • Work well with others and is comfortable with reaching out to a variety of stakeholders within the company.
  • Are dynamic, flexible, and have a continuous improvement mindset.

Do not worry if you do not fit all the requirements listed above, we would still love to receive your application!

Benefits

  • Terms and compensation at a competitive level.
  • A very good pension scheme.
  • Premium health and group life insurance, including access to online medical service.
  • Modern office facilities at Lysaker with top-notch in-house canteen with subsidized lunch and available free parking.
  • Flexible working conditions with hybrid work set up (3 days from the office, 2 days from home).
  • Sports club membership including sporting and cultural activities (e.g., group training in our gymnasium, running, sailing, kayak rental, Pilates, football, theatre and concert tickets etc.).
  • Social events year-round (e.g., wine tastings, cooking classes, yoga, dance, and rock-climbing lessons etc.).
  • Company cabins in e.g., the Norwegian mountains, Swedish coast, Barcelona, Copenhagen, Berlin and Lisbon.
  • Paid parental leave and compassionate leave.
